An HR Coordinator at HR Revolution oversees collaborating with clients to deliver highly detailed and comprehensive project briefs; they manage the complete employee lifecycle for all clients! The role is key to ensuring the smooth daily running of client accounts, delivery activity and contributing ideas to support and improve operational processes.
See this week’s blog by our HR Coordinator Abbi, who reveals what makes HR Revolution different and her top tips for starting out in the industry.
What does a typical day at HR Revolution look like for you?
It starts with a coffee! It’s hard to say what a typical day looks like as no day is really the same. I will try and start the day by going through client inboxes and make sure everything is up to date and actioned or that there is a plan in place. I will often have client meetings to discuss ongoing/upcoming projects and how we can support going forwards. I will then move on to delivering the work, this can be anything from employee relations to learning and development.
What makes HR Revolution different?
We are all true generalists so can cover such a broad range of topics and due to the close relationships, we build with our clients, we are able to tailor meaningful HR solutions to a range of issues. HR Revolution really focuses on people which can sometimes become a bit lost, we make sure this remains at the fore front for all our clients.
What is the best part of your role?
I love the variety of the role; we all get involved in so many different aspects of the HR lifecycle which is great for learning and development. It is great that I can manage my own workload and work closely with the client to provide guidance and advice on a wide range of HR related queries, from general questions to big project roll outs.
Why did you choose a career in HR?
The people side of things has always interested me, so I wanted a career which had people at the heart of it. To be able to assist in the development of businesses and employees and make a difference is where the value is for me. It has also pushed me out of my comfort zone and from doing so, I have learnt so much and become more confident as a result.
What advice would you give to anyone looking to start their career in HR?
HR is driven by experience and knowledge, try and get involved in everything and anything! I would definitely recommend CIPD Level 3 as it gives a well-rounded overview of the entire HR role from a practical perspective and lays down the foundations to set you up for success.
Do you have any tips or advice to share that you have learnt as a HR Coordinator?
Things change rapidly in HR; it is important to remain flexible and adaptable to demands in order to keep up and provide the best possible service. As we are client focused, this is really important to maintain quality support in line with best practise guidance.
