GUIDE TO WHISTLEBLOWING

The way a worker can ‘ blow the whistle’ on wrongdoing depends on whether they feel they can tell their employer. A worker can report things that aren’t right, are illegal or if anyone at work is neglecting their duties.

A worker can’t be dismissed because of whistleblowing. If they are, they can claim unfair dismissal – they’ll be protected by law as long as certain criteria are met. It is important that their concerns are investigated and the company consider practises that can be put in place to prevent concerns raised in the future.

IN THIS GUIDE YOU’LL LEARN HOW TO:
  • Understand what whistleblowing is eligible for protection
  • Understand who is and isn’t protected
  • Understand policy, training and culture
